What Our Customers Say About Us

This transducer kit is brilliant! Absolutely better than the other one we have; it was raining the day we completed a transmission test on the 793F. We fitted the transducers and sat in the cab, completed the test quickly and very easily, thanks to the new kit.

The SafeGauge products are a great addition to our tooling inventory. Tooling that removes personnel from the footprint of the machine. It makes the technician's job easier. Dial indicators, again, remove personnel from the footprint of the machine. Eliminates technicians from crush/pinch points.

Just wanted to say thanks for lending us the latest testing kit for the trial on DT5304. Feedback from the team is that it works well and does what it's meant to do. The transducers have good range. The only request is for some extra transducers in the kit as we have already discussed.

We have mandated SafeGauge Pressure Transducers across our entire site and banned regular pressure gauges entirely. SafeGauge products have made our maintenance procedures significantly safer by entirely removing our techs from exposure to high-risk areas. The implementation has reduced the time it takes to do our regular checks by at least 50%.

We now have the SafeGauge Dial Indicator units on-site, and they’re an absolute pleasure to use. We look forward to incorporating this new technology into our existing servicing procedures.

This tooling has almost halved our workload during live testing and the lads love it as it is a lot more user-friendly than the previous tooling we had. Since then, we’ve purchased another kit after the first one we bought. We highly recommend SafeGauge to others for tooling purchases as the tooling is simple, robust, and user-friendly.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What does the SafeGauge Pressure Transducer measure?

The SafeGauge Pressure Transducers measure pressures in fluid and gas systems. They are most commonly used for:

  • Hydraulic pressure testing
  • Engine commissioning, oil and boost pressure
  • Air conditioning system testing

Where do I read the test results?

Our Pressure Transducers are connected via Bluetooth to the MultiTool Pro tablet or to your own device using the SafeGauge mobile app.

How quick do the numbers update? Operating hydraulic hammers, it’s quick bursts of pressures that I’m watching for.

The numbers update at 32 Hz, so you’ll see readings refreshed 32 times per second. Fast enough to capture short pressure bursts during hammer operation.

How do the Pressure Transducers connect to the fluid system?

Our Pressure Transducers are commonly connected to the machinery's test points via an adapter. The Pressure Transducer has a 1/4"NPT male thread.

Commonly used adapter fittings are CAT & STAUFF, both of which are available from SafeGauge.

What is the Bluetooth range?

Our Pressure Transducers can connect to the MultiTool Pro via Bluetooth from up to 100m (328ft) away.

What pressure ranges are SafeGauge Pressure Transducers available in?

SafeGauge Pressure Transducers are available in a variety of pressure ranges, allowing you to select the most suitable option for your specific pressure testing requirements.

0 - 5 bar / -14 to +72psi
0 - 25 bar / 0 to 362psi
0 - 100 bar / 0 to 1450psi
0 - 300 bar / 0 to 4351psi
0 - 600 bar / 0 to 8702psi

How do I choose the correct Pressure Transducer for my application?

When selecting a Pressure Transducer, consider the following:

  • The type of equipment you will be testing and its maximum operating pressure
  • The testing procedures you will be completing
  • The level of accuracy required for your measurements

If you are unsure which Pressure Transducer range is required, SafeGauge recommends consulting the machinery OEM or referring to the equipment’s maintenance manual to confirm the maximum pressure that needs to be tested.

How accurate is the SafeGauge Pressure Transducer?

The SafeGauge Pressure Transducers are accurate to 0.2% full scale.

How are the Pressure Transducers charged?

The Pressure Transducers are charged via a 5V DC charger in the charging case.

How long does the Pressure Transducer operate when fully charged?

30 hours.

How long does it take to charge a Pressure Transducer?

It takes 3 hours to charge from zero to fully charged.

Do SafeGauge Pressure Transducers come with a warranty?

Yes, the SafeGauge Pressure Transducers come with a 12-month warranty.

Do SafeGauge Pressure Transducers require calibration?

Yes, we recommend having your devices calibrated every 12 months.

Calibration and servicing can be carried out by SafeGauge or one of our service partners.

How do you know which device is which when viewing multiple readings on the MultiTool Pro or App?

All SafeGauge sensors have a serial number, are colour coded & can be issued a name or nickname of the operator's choice, e.g. Main Hydraulics, Steering System.

What happens if a Pressure Transducer is exposed to overpressure?

The SafeGauge MultiTool Pro will notify you if the maximum pressure of a connected Pressure Transducer is being exceeded. Subjecting a transducer to overpressure can damage the sensor membrane and impact its performance. Damage caused by improper use or overpressure is not covered under the SafeGauge product warranty.
